The master confectioner, Peter Reber, opened the first Reber café and pastry shop in Munich in 1865. He soon made a name for himself with his homemade snacks, and his café became a very popular meeting place for Munich residents.
In 1938, the Reber family moved their main cafe to the center of Bad Reichenhall, where the company is now headquartered. Much has changed since its inception, although the company is owned by the fifth generation of the family, traditional recipes are still carefully guarded, and the culture of the cafe is still celebrated with pleasure. Approximately 200,000 guests visit the Reber Café in Bad Reichenhall and the two shops in Salzburg each year to enjoy refined confectionery in a unique setting.
