Milka, the world-famous brand of chocolate confectionery, is originally from Switzerland, created by Swiss chocolate Philippe Suchard in 1825. The famous chocolate bars packed in purple are still produced primarily in Lörrach, Germany. The brand's ownership has changed several times in the last fifty years, from Suchard to Interfood (after the merger with Tobler), to Jacobs Suchard to the American food giant Kraft Foods to Mondelez International.
